Plexiglass Target

Whoa... the information the news is allowed to print these days is WAY beyond what we were allowed to divulge in the "Silent Service". This article in: CNET News
Navy's most cutting-edge submarine tech ever (photos)
is over the top. We were careful about letting out photos of classified gear. I have never actually seen a picture of the 710 boat that contained classified material out in the public domain.

Now it looks like the USN is promoting letting some cutting edge stuff out. Older Bubbleheads were never allowed to reveal gauges and screen images but I have seen numerous photos of Virginia Class Control Rooms.

A few of us on the USS Augusta Alumni crew were fortunate enough to get tours on the USS Hawaii during the first Reunion. It was Star Wars level IMHO. Anyway look at the article in the above link for a good read and a look at some incredible Virginia Class gear. Nice look at the Plexiglass Boat in the cross hairs.
